We’ve been down visiting in the cites and having a great time. This week has felt like a hard week in dealing with a cold and then getting out of my schedule as far as exerising. Maybe I should say routine. I rested Wednesday night to help get over my cold and then had my usual Thursday off while we traveled. Friday was interesting. My wife and I got some time alone to go roller-blading around a hilly park. It was 6.2 miles and we did it in 45 minutes, mostly me waiting for her while she was braking down each little hill. Good sweat but I’m lost when I have no numbers in front of me for calories. When we got back I went biking up on down the street with my son for 40 minutes. I left it in a higher gear and went for longer distances than my son which gave me a little workout. But I was lost again when I went for a run outside for 45 minutes. I didn’t run that much, couldn’t tell how fast I was going which wore me out, and once again couldn’t keep track of how many calories I was burning.
This morning felt better as I was able to use their treadmill and got a good workout in. I could feel the soreness in my hips from the roller-blading. If I’m re-introducing that into my exercise this summer, it will be a Saturday night thing so I can rest on Sunday. I weighed myself in this morning on my aunt’s scale and it said I lost 2lbs. Huge goal for me. That’s 25 lbs in 2 months. Really a good number to lose in that amount of time. I know, it’s my aunt’s scale and it might be off from our scale at home but I am owning that number. If I lose one lb next week, oh well. Still going in the right direction.
Skipping the journaling of what I ate. My aunt keeps it pretty healthy and I don’t have much time. My wife and I are about to go out to eat for the first time in 2 months so this should be interesting. It’s been a great weekend and it feels like a little reward for what I’ve been able to do.
